Rachel + Mark | Greek Wedding in New Mexico

Real Weddings

Hey sweet friends and fellow wedding lovers, we’ve missed you! The Shayla Cristine Photography team took a little bit of time off to enjoy this special time of year with loved ones, but we are BACK.

(And we couldn’t be more excited to share this wedding with you!)

It’s true this holiday season might not have been quite the whirlwind of fun, family, and friends that we’re used to, but we still hope you managed to have a warm, safe, and happy celebration or two with those who matter most to you – even if it was all virtual.

We’re sharing Rachel and Mark’s incredible soiree with you today, of all days, partially because it brought a lot of light and love to our chilly December month. How could it not?! With their gorgeous regal details, rich royal color palette, and sparkling gold accents abound.

But we also wanted to share this New Mexico wedding with you, our lovely readers and friends, because Rachel and Mark perfectly straddled the balance between being COVID-friendly and still having a magical evening filled with big belly laughter, ear-to-ear smiles, inside jokes, and memories to last a lifetime.

Just because they got it perfectly right, though, doesn’t mean it was easy. The couple had originally planned their own version of a big fat Greek wedding for the spring last year but, as you can imagine, the whole global pandemic thing threw a wrench in their carefully laid plans

The couple was forced to scale back their invite list, but they realized pretty quickly that that didn’t mean they had to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Their day, made possible by a handful of loved ones and some incredible local vendors, was smaller, it’s true, but only in population!

(Plus they had some unbelievably cute face masks that were coordinated to match the whole scheme!)

We probably don’t need to say anything else here about how perfectly everything came together, how Rachel was glowing in her shimmering wedding gown, or how the love between bride and groom rivaled that of any fairytale….The photos tell you all that themselves!

Before we jump right into the best part though, we want to sign off with a moment of appreciation for Rachel and Mark. Thank you for keeping us wedding-lovers satiated! And thank you, especially, for allowing the Shayla Cristine Photography team to capture your intimate day — we couldn’t possibly be more honored.
