Happy #WeddingWednesday, fellow romantics! Thanks for hanging out with us on this lovely brisk day. As autumn slowly begins making its rounds through our darling desert state, caressing each leaf and turning it gold, we’re doing a bit of magic-making and delicate, gilded touches as well!
It’s no secret that this season is a favorite among New Mexicans – the smell of green chiles roasting is enough to make anyone fall in love. But before we fell face-first into the crunching leaves and warm, jewel tones of fall, the local wedding businesses of New Mexico had to give one, final homage to summer.
Our (dream) team for this styled shoot came together as creatives at the historic Leslie Farmhouse, a secret New Mexican legend. The pastoral oasis hidden in the North Valley is known by Albuquerque locals for its photo-op, canary-yellow facade and Victorian details. But inside the farmhouse, where the Shayla Cristine Photography team and other amazing local wedding vendors got to play? Now that’s where the real magic comes in.
The gorgeous, spiral staircase in the grand hall of the farmhouse is framed by bright and sunny windows and a sparkling chandelier – it took virtually no effort for our model and her lilac Alexandra Grecco gown to look like something straight out of a fairytale there. Although, let’s be honest, it did take a bit of effort! (To say the least!) Thank goodness we had local wedding planner, A Beautiful Theme, there to make sure every moment was exactly as perfect as we imagined.
Spoiler: it was!
Our team of wedding-obsessed, lovers-of-love, bright-eyed, New Mexican photographers was honored as all get out to be a part of this styled shoot. Even if it wasn’t a heavenly combination of our very, very favorite things — New Mexico’s history, local wedding talent, love, rosy pink and shimmering gold details — we still would have been honored.
Because, really, what makes styled shoot come to life isn’t the plush seating arranged perfectly on a manicured lawn, or the blushing cheeks of a model fresh from the makeup chair — it’s the hard work of the local wedding businesses who do the arranging, the ones holding the brush, the bouquet, and dare we say, the lens, too.
So thank you to all the inspiring, motivating, magical people who made this possible! We’ll be daydreaming of this shoot for many, many summers to come.
